🔥🔥 Burn Ban Now in Effect Across Malheur County! 🔥🔥

Attention, Vale residents and visitors!
Summer is heating up, and so is the risk of wildfires. As of today, a full burn ban is in effect for all of Malheur County, including right here in Vale. That means no open burning, no burn barrels, and absolutely no fireworks in restricted areas.

🚫 What’s Banned?

  • Open burns (yard debris, agricultural burning, slash piles)
  • Burn barrels
  • Campfires outside of designated, approved campsites
  • Fireworks in non-permitted zones

🔥 What’s Still Okay?

✅ Propane grills and camp stoves (on non-flammable surfaces)
✅ Campfires in designated fire rings at approved campsites (check first!)
✅ Smoking in enclosed vehicles or cleared areas
✅ Being a responsible citizen and helping your neighbors do the same

💡 Why This Matters

We’re not trying to ruin anyone’s summer fun—but the dry conditions, rising temps, and breezy afternoons create the perfect recipe for wildfires that can spread fast and far. A single spark can turn into a serious threat to homes, wildlife, and our first responders.

🧯 Fines and Enforcement

This is a county-wide mandate, and violations may result in fines or even criminal charges. Local fire departments and law enforcement are actively monitoring compliance. Please don’t put our community at risk.
