City of Vale, Oregon – Job Opening – Utility Worker II
The City of Vale is accepting applications for a Utility Worker II to join our Public Works Department. This full-time position works closely with the City Manager and staff to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of the City’s water and wastewater systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general labor and operate equipment for water and wastewater systems.
- Repair and maintain water lines, meters, valves, hydrants, and pumps.
- Respond to system emergencies and support public works projects.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Oregon CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain within 3 months).
- Ability to obtain Water Treatment Level I and Wastewater Collection/ Treatment Level I certifications within three years.
- Experience in utility work, heavy equipment operation, and working in varied outdoor conditions.
- Pre-employment requirements include a drug screening, background check, and verification of qualifications.

- Salary – $3,616.75 per month
